Project Overview
MEMRI is an innovative AI-powered product that integrates data from various apps, including social media platforms like Mastodon, Reddit, Facebook, Gmail, messaging apps like iMessages, WhatsApp, and more. The goal is to create a streamlined operating interface that enhances users' flow state by connecting and organizing their data seamlessly.
MY Role
As a Product Strategist and User Research Lead, I was responsible for conducting market research, identifying potential target audiences, and running user interviews to inform the product design. I also led a user research team to gather and analyze qualitative data to uncover key insights.
Problem
In an era of information overload, users struggle to manage and streamline data from multiple sources, hindering productivity and preventing them from achieving a flow state. MEMRI aimed to solve this by integrating data across various apps and using AI to create a cohesive, user-friendly interface.
Research and Insights
The user research team and I conducted extensive market research to identify potential target audiences. We interviewed different user types, including professionals, students, and tech enthusiasts, to understand their pain points and needs. We gathered interview questions, created prototypes, and showcased them to around 50 participants. The qualitative data collected was recorded and parsed to surface significant insights, which were crucial in shaping the product design.
Design Process
Market Research: Identified potential target audiences and user types.
User Interviews: Conducted interviews with 50 participants to gather qualitative data.
Prototyping: Developed prototypes based on initial research to present to users.
Data Analysis: Parsed the qualitative data to uncover key insights.
Strategic Recommendations: Provided actionable insights to inform the design team.
Solutions and Deliverables
The final deliverables included a comprehensive market research report, detailed user personas, and strategic recommendations for the design team. These deliverables helped ensure that the final product was user-centered and addressed the key pain points identified during the research phase.
Impact and Metrics
User Insights: Identified key user needs and preferences, which were incorporated into the design.
Market Validation: Validated the product concept with potential users, providing confidence in the market fit.
Strategic Direction: Informed the design team with data-driven insights, ensuring a user-centered approach.
Participant Engagement: High engagement and positive feedback from 50 participants, confirming the relevance of the research findings.
CONCLUSION
The MEMRI project demonstrated the power of thorough market research and user-centered strategy. By focusing on user needs and preferences, we provided valuable insights that informed the design process and ensured the product was well-aligned with market demands.
